Life has thrown its fair share of storms your way — business challenges, family dramas and much more, yet you have remained steady, bold and unshakable as a rock. Your calmness isn’t just a personality trait but a superpower. Your steady hand has steered your businesses to success and has also been a guiding light and an inspiration to us. Despite your calm exterior, your heart is full of love and kindness. You always listen patiently, and give wise advice without judgment, showing care not only with spoken words but with a steady presence. And, of course, we can’t forget your great sense of humor. There have been many moments when your perfectly timed quips have lightened the mood and reminded us that laughter is as important as seriousness. Daddy, thank God for preserving your life. Fun Fact. In 1982 he opened a bottle of "special" beer to celebrate my success at the ordinary level. When I could not push it down easily, he gave a packet of biscuits. The taste of the special spoilt that of the biscuits but I managed to swallow them in order to make him happy. It was his own way of telling me that I was a big girl and making him proud. My Dear friend Pa Forlemu. Though I am thousands of miles away and cannot be with you in person, my heart is very much there with you today as we celebrate a truly remarkable man. Today we honour my dear friend, Pa John Forlemu, on the joyful occasion of your 70th birthday. What an incredible milestone, and what an incredible life you have lived so far - a life filled with kindness, faith, and love for your family and friends. Over the years I have known you, I have seen you as a man who values people above possessions, faith above fortune, and relationships above all else. You are friendly to all, devoted to your family, and steadfast in your walk with God. That is rare in our world today, and it’s something I deeply admire. Your visits to England have always been special. Whether it’s sharing stories over a glass of wine, enjoying a good laugh, or simply spending time together, you’ve left lasting memories that warm my heart to this day. I wish I could be there now, to celebrate and raise a glass in your honour.
